Emma (20 years old by then) and Shaggy (2 years older than Emma) had lived together for 1 year when music started to result as a combination of Emma’s writings and hummings on Shaggy’s riffs. They had being trying to fit in several office jobs, but this never made them feel good with themselves and they failed to be enthusiastic and truly committed. Music has always been an integral part of his life. Early influence such as psychedelic, punk and electronic/ambient music have been the driving force being what he describes now as "abstract ambient electronica". He describes his work as merely "a hobby" but nowadays make his musics and random, stark poetry accessible to many more people. His first attempt in making music was in 1979 with bass player James Davies, they formed a one off project called "concrete towers and recorded a track of the same name using a bass, taped electronic sounds and beleive it or not...a metal detector! In mid 1980, using only a moog prodigy, he recorded (in mono) "The feeling of water" e.p. which was never released formally. "A strange bit of music that! I had to do over layer upon over layer of tracks, to be honest, a bit of a mess". In 1986-87 he collaborated with close friend Steve Price to create another unreleased e.p. "High Tech Nightmare"; "Using samplers for the first time was fun; a few very dark tracks done and the tape was lost, so I cannot even remember the melody" 1989 saw Woody move into solo work. Under the guise "The Human Host" Two tape albums were generated "Inspired" in 1989 and "new life" in 1990, both recorded live and in mono on cassette tape. "Despite some very nice melodies, it sounded so amateur, I have the tapes somewhere... maybe I will have to re-do them in the future" For years there was silence.

Working as a drummer and assistant pastor in a local church, this demanded a great deal of his time; however the disbanding of this church in 1994 began what was as Woods describes "the dark years. "Issues in the family were causing great distress to my wife and myself and but for the grace of God, we would never of made it." During that time in 1997, Woody began to access the world of computer based music. Using midi software, virtual synthesizers, drum machines, samples and loops, the 3rd heaven Project was birthed. In two years there was enough material for three albums to be done "3rd Heaven", "The Timeless Elect" and "Levels of Sleep". Now in stereo but still on cassette format, something Woods was finding increasingly frustrating. These instrumental albums he hopes will one day be mastered onto C.D. In 2002, the first "real" album was released, however a very limited edition (only 10 copies). The "When God calls Time" album was the first stage of moving away from instrumentals and moving into poetic statements that became grafted into the music.

Although mainly dance based project, it began to become clear that a sound was beginning to form. A number of people who heard samples of the 2003 album were baffled by the fact that he had never formally released it. In June 2006 "Departure" was released and is a very personal project to him, which in various poetic forms follows the last twelve months of his life and according to him, the most turbulent yet. The album is an ambient, minimal experience using hardware and virtual synthesizers and treated moments of poetry. "I was pulled apart and was slowly changing. I saw what I really was and hated it, there was so much change and the thought of losing many things, shook me up. Despite the fact that I was comfortable in many arenas in life, I was lost and I needed finding and restoring, this album is a testimony to that ongoing process".

Live work was to be the next stage but after a try out gig, the time is not yet right. The need for the project to become more than a one man band will also be looked at. "The advantages of being a solo artist is that you are your own man, but that can breed laziness. I may need someone to push me and make me uncomfortable". "The thought of that terrifies me...my music has always been a personal thing to me...not any more it appears". The future is always moving, changing; evolving. Now recently divorced and living in Anglesey. He has become a reclusive figure. "The beauty of this place is that very, very few know me...I can go from place to place and shop to shop without being noticed which, at this time in my life is great for me. This is one fantastic island!"

Rob Rippa was born on September 8th 1983. Rob was introduced to music at a very early age by his mother and grandfather. He would listen and imitate everyone from Ritchie valens and Hank Williams to Beethoven and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. They noticed he had a talent unseen at his age and he was given his first guitar at age five. In his high school years Rob became an extremely lyrical emcee taking trips to nyc to battle and expand his skill. He released several hip hop albums most notably Ransom note and the human experience and many appearances on Houston's own dj chills famous mixtapes.

At twenty five years of age Rob began recording folk music, with modern contemporary political overtones blended with surreal poetic expression. Songs like makes me sick and inspired by chimes of freedom gained him publicity and he was invited to play at several protest events including end the fed Houston. Today he has some of the most challenging lyrics in the business and his name can be found saturated on the net.

Luca Brazi is a relatively young artist (born March 23, 1989) who brings light to social and spiritual issues plaguing nearly every American household today. As an artist embedded in the "Bible Belt" of the United States, drawing attention to topics such as spiritual and political conformity directly conflicts with the region's generally accepted norms. Despite this he has managed to make a name for himself entirely off of his view of the world and the gears that make it function.

As a budding, self-made, organic talent, being able to collaborate with successful artists such as Grammy Award winner David Banner due to his abilities as a lyricist alone certainly speaks for itself. One could excessively garnish him with flattering labels such as "the best" or whatever fitting description they chose to conjure and still not genuinely define the 'special something' they see in him so, in the words of Luca Brazi himself, "Let the music speak for itself."

It's been quite the adventure channeling his way through the sacred portals of hip hop, but Joseph Ritrievi, aka Joe Cyrus, has been carving a spiritual niche in the culture's threads since he was a child. Growing up in Central Pennsylvania's relatively unknown Etters, Joe Cyrus began his rhythmic journey as a child of the 80s, influenced by his step-father's classic rock collection and inheriting his first set of turntables at the age of 9. By the age of 10, Cyrus was accused of starting a third grade cult for causing students to believe in the power of their minds, and became a published writer. These were merely signs of things to yet pass for the aspiring writer and free thinker.

Joe Cyrus first stepped into the hip hop realm at the age of 11 under the moniker, Jazz. Influenced by the hip hop's golden era boom-bap and producers such as Pete Rock and Dj Premier, he began writing cohesive songs and conducted independent studies of the culture for special interest school projects. While attending Villanova University near Philadelphia, Joe Cyrus began recording his psychedelic rhymes with the intentions to get the "robots" to open their minds and revolutionize their pre-programmed states of consciousness. Cyrus then traveled home and linked with fellow Central PA artist, Seis Fifth, to record a project entitled "We Hungry, We Eat" in 2006; his aspirations to become more focused as a writer grew immensely. The rest, as they say, is history.

Since 2006, Joe Cyrus has built his name up while smashing through stages everywhere from Boston to Seattle. Not limited to just being exquisite with the quill, Joe Cyrus has been producing hip hop tracks for artists all the U.S. including Portland Hip-Hop groups Red Tape. Cut Tape., and Midas Dutch. Armed with a crate full of symphonic samples and extreme musical intelligence, Joe Cyrus will be releasing 3 projects by the end of 2010. Former co-owner of underground imprint, STLP (Harrisburg, PA). Along with Artists Over Industry, El*A*Kwents, and Apollo's Sun, Joe Cyrus created the label with the intentions to dissipate the garbage that has infiltrated a once adored culture, and lend his unique style of musical talents to inspire locked minds to break free from the chains of society's maniacal ways. Now reborn in Portland, Oregon as "J-Osiris" (from Pluto) and rejoined by former labelmate, Wellis Fool, Cyrus is more determined than ever.

What all underground rappers know is that to get heard takes perseverance, and that is why our twenty five year old hip-hop prodigy, aptly named Perseverance, has overcome all the many hardships in his life and is spitting lyrical fire with some of the illest cats in underground hip-hop today. Perseverance has had his share of hard knocks in his life from a neglected childhood to a drug dependent adolescence of broken dreams to the past year, in which the sensitive an spiritual emcee went to hell and back. Perseverance hasn't only been cursed with hardship in his life because he has also been blessed with the ability to turn this hardship to his advantage, which has earned him the name Perseverance. This is perhaps why he has such a profound interest in survivalism because his life has always been a struggle for survival itself. He wears the physical and emotional scars he has earned as though they were medals of honour. This is because he recognizes the fact that strength is restored by wounding .

He has also experienced some intensely uplifting moments in his life, some of which are due to his vast experiments with various psychotropic substances. These are experiments which he feels have opened him up to an almost shamanistic type of wisdom. These psychedelic journeys were for him an intrinsic part of the development of his intense creativity. Perseverance told me: “I got really big into shamanism getting in touch with the plant and animal world and reading mind expanding literature such as Carlos Castenada etc. to help you understand how to use the drugs for their individaully designed divine purpose insted of letting them do what they want with you. Not putting these ancient practices and methods down in the slightest I actually embrase & credit them for my unique perspective on life and highly developed senses of self and place.” This deeply spiritual creativity which Perseverance possesses, not to mention his natural charisma, has enabled him to win the hearts and minds of various underground emcees who have contributed to his pending début album, Perseverance's United Division. Perseverance said: ”I was motivated, driven, focused and proud to have the opportunity of a lifetime to be able to take advantage of working with such greats as I have on this album. Born behind enemy lines to a family of toothless sharecroppers, starklove's life

took a bizarre turn when he was kidnapped by a secret society of Shaolin monks

at the tender age of five. He was brought to their hidden island encampment

where he endured many years of intensive martial art training.

It was soon discovered that starklove was incapable of simple fundamentals such

as tiger style, snake style, crane style, leopard style and dragon style. However

he had somehow mastered the obscure and highly advanced bat style, which

Vega X is often considered to be the first pioneer spiritual emcee of the northern New England area. While his style is often imitated it is never replicated. To date he is widely known for his collaborations with underground powerhouse artists such as ATMA, Sick Since and Rassul Allah (from Lost Children Of Babylon) as well as album singles featuring Shabazz The Disciple, The Holacaust (from Wu Killa Beez) & Armageddion (former Terror Squad).

For over seven years, Vega X was known for performing and recording spiritual Hip Hop music throughout the northeast. As a young emcee starting out in a Hip Hop extinct area, he was drawn to the art of battle rapping and freestyling. After crushing any and all opposition he could find across the globe, he began to study ancient scriptures and pathways of light. His style eventually matured into a more focused, knowledgable craft touching on subject matter of all different types. It was this esoteric occultism rhyme form which later led him to be noticed by LCOB affiliates. In his entire career he has always had an underlying state of mind declaring that no human opinion is fit to judge him. This is manifested through his music as he seeks to lead only enlightened listeners through the future.

While often described as spiritual or revolutionary, he personally detests describing Planet X Records as "political", pointing out that politics is simply a game show controlled by higher powers. Much of who Vega X is and where he comes from is discussed in his verses, so it will neglected from being reported here. He has always had a "let the music do the talking" philosophy and after releasing his first pressed LP at the age of 15, he fought to found several groups ultimately culminating with his creation of the independent label Planet X Records. Since it's founding he has recruited members in many different states as well as overseas.

After creating a large domestic and abroad fanbase with the "Guerrilla Allience: Guerrilla Warfare Project", vega X was approached by hip hop groups from as far places as Russia, Columbia, Italy, Mexico, Brazil, other parts of South America and more. Armed with the skills taught to him by successful emcees El*A*Kwents and D. One (formerly Absolute Proof), Vega X felt ready to take on the world. It was then he made contact with one of his favourite emcees Killascripsha who is known throughout the streets and industry as a beast. After being mentored by many hardcore street emcees, Vega X has sharpened his sword to cut down many jealous haters in a bloody path to victory ending with seeing himself as the only one to recieve high profile collaborations, achievements and accolades.

Jared McKinstry aka Dubble is Political Hip Hop artist from the Chicago-land area. Capital-'X'

Capital-"X" was born in Brooklyn, New York. His parents migrated to New York from Puerto Rico during the "Great Migration" in the 1950's after Puerto Rico's official status was changed to "Commonwealth". It was a time when discrimination was rampant in the United States and it was no different in New York. As stated by Lolita Lebrón, there were signs in restaurants which read "No dogs or Puerto Ricans allowed". Struggling to find his place throughout his life "X" spent nearly half of his life trapped within the web of the criminal justice system, a fate that is all to common for young Blacks and Latinos in America. No stranger to struggle it was no surprise that "X" took after his uncles who were imprisoned for their political practices within the Puerto Rican Nationalist Party fighting for Puerto Rico's Independence. While serving time in Leesburg State Prison in New Jersey Capital-"X" transformed himself into a prisoners rights activist. Inspired by his uncles and the likes of Dr. Pedro Albizu Campos, George L Jackson, Malcolm X and countless others "X" educated himself to stand up against the very system he felt set out to destroy him and countless others.

A very strong opponent of capitol punishment Capital-"X" now spends most of his time traveling across the US as well as over seas speaking and performing to educate and enlighten the masses on what he considers to be the truth about a corrupt and unjust legal system that he compares to the slave trade of the past. Intertwining facts gathered by years of extensive study in criminology, penology, law, personal experience and the experiences of fellow captives with hip hop music "X" intoxicates audiences with what he calls Raptivism. Calling himself the Voice of the Voiceless a title borrowed from "perhaps the best known Death-Row prisoner in the world", political rights activist/award winning journalist Mumia Abu Jamal, Capital-"X" claims to be the spokesman for over 2.5 million captives held in US prisons. He is a core member of The Anti-Injustice Movement and a member of Guerrilla Republik.

Brent Lee Regan

Brent Lee Regan is an Alternative Hip Hop artist from the UK whose lyrical delivery and content is as varied as his musical style. His lyricism is deeply profound and explores issues of personal, political, philosophical and theological importance. Poker Face first hit the Lehigh Valley in 1989 playing venues such as the Airport Music Hall, Zodiac Club and the Pascal Club (now Irv's Gentleman's Club). In 1992, the band released its first album, Game of Love, and embarked on a lifelong career of music and mayhem. Throughout it all, they played for Presidential candidates and hardcore rock'n rollers, shared the stage with dozens of nationals and hundreds of unknowns, worked with the best in the industry and the worst of humanity. Now, 20 years later, their 5th full length album, "Peace or War," has just been released with no intentions of slowing down.

After the debut of Game of Love, Poker Face set out on a mission to strengthen the Lehigh Valley music scene by getting local artists, venues and enthusiasts to come together. The "Just Do Me" bash was born and continued for 5 consecutive years featuring multiple bands performing over several days. This was followed up with three Rocktober bashes and continued into the next millennium with two years of hosting the Backyard Buzz weekly showcase and four years of BeLeVe (Best of the Lehigh Valley) festivals.

Early on, the band pushed to get their music out to a larger audience with showcases in Philadelphia and New York City. Playing on the success of their festivals and the "do it yourself" mentality, trips to the Big Apple grew to include several bands packing up to 4 full tour buses.

During all of this, two more albums had been released: Next "1996 and Sex, Lies & Politiks" 2000. The flavor of the music was still thick with harmonies and intricate in form, however, the message had changed from one of pop-love to that of questioning authority and shedding light on the dark underbelly of national politics. The band was now travelling more extensively throughout the Mid Atlantic region and became a staple at protest rallies and freedom based events in Washington DC.

With the completion of their 4th album, "Made In America," Poker Face had now bought a beat up old motor home on E-bay and was playing in over 20 states throughout the country. They were getting airplay on hundreds of college stations and lead singer, Paul Topete, was now writing freelance for American Free Press.

In an effort to produce new material in a timely fashion, the band invested in their own studio equipment. Unfortunately, the learning curve was not anticipated and crashing computers necessitated the recording of the full album three times. A Presidential election also diverted the studio efforts as the band was constantly requested to play in support of Ron Paul in every part of the country from Sturgis, SD to Clearwater, FL.

During this marathon project, new relationships were forged. The band had the opportunity to write with Mark Farner of Grand Funk Railroad and mix at Seattle's Robert Lang Studios (Nirvana, Foo Fighters, Alice In Chains) with producer Toby Wright (Alice In Chains, Metallica, Bob Marley, Ozzy Osbourne and 100s more). The finishing touches were put on their 2009 album, "Peace or War," and a sneak peek release occurred this October with shows near St Louis, MO and Louisville, KY.

With 20 years under their belt, Poker Face is just getting started. Just wait and see what will unfold with 20 more.

"Stream Of Consciousness was born in Beaufort, SC on January 15th, 1983 (Dr. Martin Luther King Jr's REAL birthday). He was born into a military family, with both his father and at one point his mother serving in the United States Marine Corps. Shortly after his birth his family moved to Kaneo Bay, Kilauea Hawaii on the island of Oahu where his father was stationed. Spending his first few years of life living just blocks from the ocean was a formative experience. This helped inspire a sense of wonder about the world within him, and even at a young age he often payed attention to the world around him more so than most of his peers. It's safe to say that having a military upbringing definitely shaped his perspective of this planet and the people in it. He was tuned in at a young age to world events.

His parents divorced when he was just 8 years old. He eventually ended up living with his father for the majority of his teenage years stationed at Camp Lejeune, N.C. Living in such a militarized environment (of course it was no war zone) was in fact the catalyst that has driven him and his craft. Writing his first song when he was 15, even going so far as to write an entire albums worth of material which will never see the light of day. In 2003 he packed up his stuff from where he was living at in Wilmington, NC at the time and headed North to Wisconsin. It was a much needed change of scenery. From then on he only romanticized a bit about making music but never got any more serious about it then writing some lines here and there.

However, in early 2007 he recorded his first track after having performed at a few open mic events locally in Wisconsin to much acclaim from fellow emcees. Since then, he has been systematically smashing local shows with the help of DJ Solution. On top of killing shows, he is slowly but steadily building a fan base both online and locally all while working on his debut album called "The Pentagon Papers" which he hopes to have completed and ready for sale by the Summer of 2010. His music is politically conscious, his lyricism is exceptional and his flow is smooth but edgy. He hopes to be able to tour all across the globe and raise awareness about the oppressive forces at work within our society and corporate rap music."

Brent Lee Regan was asked to perform his spoken word piece "We Are Strange" at a peaceful protest on Sunday the 20th of June, 2010.

The protest was held on the anniversary Neda Agha-Soltan's assassination by The Basij Militia and was organized by Human Rights campaigner Maryam Namazie, her organization: One Law For All, Iran Solidarity & The Anti Injustice Movement.
